Okay I gotta admit that I feel like a kid right now playing Pokemon Diamond. But let's just admit, PKMN is ever addictive and will remain this way forever. and yes, I have been a fan of it since I was primary 3, and always hogging onto that nostalgic old gameboy colour with red/blue/yellow version. then came the metal series, GSC, and then ruby sapphire emerald and then.....the GBA remake of Red/Blue, FireRed, Leaf Green. and after like say many many years, now 4th Generation PKMN is out...*drumrolls* Pokemon Diamond.
Much of my childhood is spent on pokemon. Leveling all my folks to level 100, completing all the sidequests. PKMN gives alot gratification and satisfaction for small things achieved. I rmb I completed my Pokedex in R/B/Y but in GSC my patience didn't allow me to do so. And yes, the number of pokemon in each series are like increasing insanely so completely the entire pokedex now in diamond is not going to be a feasible task. not at all, seriously.
Pple may say, PKMN is hella easy, and there's no challenge to it. Yes, that is surface perspective of pokemon. To me, the real game starts after you beat the crap outta the elite four and start embarking on sidequests. completing the pokedex has never been an easy quest, not to mention doing EV training and creating a competitive battle team of level 100s. A very time wasting game, but provides great gratification. I seriously wonder how much time I'll be able to waste on this game..
And yes, NDS is a ownage system. PSP games seriously pale in comparison. Only like few good games around and yes, that's all. many pple tell me to buy PSP then (and I did) which I regret. Piracy killed the quality in PSP games. Monster hunter, Grand theft auto. PSP is just relying on these series to sell. Only several top-notch games, and the rest are rubbish!
Speak about gameplay. The stylus has indeed revolutionarized gameplay. Especially minigames. It creates new possiblities for new minigames. When I first heard of the stylus, I thought it was a lame gimmick introduced, but wrong. I was wrong. It makes games like New Super Mario Bros simply the l33t oWnAge!
Graphics wise. I think both are about the same, with PSP leading slightly. But what's a console with l33t graphics but poor gameplay and poor everything. The fact that it can store music/videos is a nice idea, but who wants to carry a mp3 player that is like same size of your entire palm plus your fingers. not a very feasible idea.
inevitably, people will think of the PSP as a better system. in SG's context, money factor pwns everything. (though the DS is actually cheaper). if you calculate effectively, PSP will require less spenditure due to piracy and the avaliability of online downloads. (illegal ones though).
the concept " buy once and play ALL the games " is a very attractive idea. Yes, it is. It fooled the hell out of many people. When wll pple realize "all the games" just include several attractive titles and a whole load of bullshit crap games.
DS games are dah quality!
Okay. Ive not been doin any work this weekend. Just the DS, DS, DS. LOLx. gotta catch up on work. I haven't even touch my math tutorial. (which is supposed to be passed up last week, woots!!).
Time to go take a bathe, and play some piano. Seriously after taking a few days break I lost my motivation to play Kanon already. Somehow I just feel more enticed to learn Dr mario!!! woots!
